Indian Garden, the award-winning restaurant chain led by star chef Karim Razaul, is set to open in Kista Galleria, a shopping center in northern Stockholm. The move aligns with the center’s strategy to offer a variety of restaurants with different dining experiences. Indian Garden has received several accolades, including two Gold Dragons from Dagens Nyheter, the British Curry Award (Lifetime Achievement), and Taste of Britain Award of Excellence.
The upcoming Kista Galleria location will mark Indian Garden’s 10th restaurant in Sweden. The restaurant prides itself on creating modern Indian dining experiences with unique spice combinations, using ingredients like basmati rice and the Garam Masala spice blend.
Currently, Indian Garden operates restaurants in various locations, including Hornstull, Medborgarplatsen, Mall of Scandinavia, Liljeholmen, Stadshagen, Västgötagatan, Norrköping, and Nacka Forum. All of their restaurants are influenced by the vibrant colors of India.
Kista Galleria is owned by Citycon and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, who acquired the shopping center in 2012 for 4.6 billion SEK, making it the highest purchase price for a single property in Sweden at that time. Citycon, with Gazit and Ilmarinen as the largest owners, owns a total of 35 shopping centers, including six in Sweden (in addition to Kista, Mölndals Centrum, Liljeholmstorget, Åkersberga, Jacobsberg, and Stenungstorg Centrum).
